Danna…

Poor little Danna got a nasty infection on her right eyeball, we think it may have accidentally been scratched by Sisko. Unfortunately the infection got so bad that we had to have the vet remove her eyeball as it was badly swollen and was most likely blind anyway, despite the eye drops the vet had given me.

She came through the operation just fine and came home this afternoon. As she now looks like the pet of one of the Discworld Igors I’ve taken to calling her “Thqueak”.

Aw poor wee woman! Same happened to my dog! Hes 100% now. They adapt better than we would!

Poor babe! But maybe it's not so bad for a rat as for a human, because of their lesser dependence on eyesight?

It's nice to know that she's recovering well after something that looks so scary.

It isn’t in any of the books. I was inspired by Igor’s pet dog, Thcrapth.

Sadly we had to have Danna PTS yesterday as she’d picked up a nasty respiratory infection (which we think is what finished off poor Sisko), which developed into pneumonia-like symptoms. She was a lovely, bouncy and friendly little girl and will definitely be missed around here.
