What variety would you breed?
So, if you were to breed (purely hypothetical) and all varieites were of equal difficulty, which varieties would you breed?
I am torn between a few. I especially like chocolate, buff and topaz (including russian topaz) and also the shaded varieties - the siameses, himilayans and burmeses but especially the burmeses and even more so the wheaten version!
But then again, I have been staring at pictures of argente cremes and wow, they are beautiful (even if some people think the red eyes are hellish!).
So I guess, I don't really know what variety I would breed.

Re: What variety would you breed?
I have always bred the variety I love most - Russian Silver and Russian Silver Agouti. Sadly, it's not an easy variety, and I foresee a time without Bongo Fury Russian Silvers... which is weird not right now though. I also adore Pearl and Cinnamon Pearl - so I'm working on those. Well, Cinn Pearl for now anyway.
I would - if I could - also breed Golden Siamese, Russian Dove Agouti, Russian Topaz, Squirrel, Velvets (may end up doing those anyway!), Russian Burmese, Buff and Downunders!

I really like your silvers. They are stunning. I especially like the Bongo Fury ears. Proper pronounced curious ears! They make a rat! I will be harassing you for some boys in the future
I like agoutis too although I have never seen a pet one in the flesh. Only photographs.
That cinnamon pearl Rex that won at Bradford is lovely. As are Grace and Eoghan's does. Such a nice variety. With Pearl being dominant lethal, do you notice significantly smaller litter sizes in your cinnamon Pearl line?

Lol Grace! If you ever decide to breed, you will have a lot of rats. I agree, I like the all the agoutis as well. I can't wait to see more varieties in the flesh. It looks like I won't get to attend a NFRS show until I submit my thesis at the end of August. But I am looking forward!

The lad who got best rex was cinnamon
I have only had one litter as yet, and that was 5 babies - but yes, I would expect smaller litters if I was breeding pearl to pearl.
Squirrel is chinchillated british blue agouti
xx

I would breed rats the size of tigers and let them loose so people can't lie about rats the size of cats. I would also breed normal rats to make people appreciate the rats we have now. And then the little ones could ride the big ones
