Why would she suddenly die?
Quick question. Found my Roborovski Hamster Peggy dead in her cage this morning. I estimate her to have been aged 20 months old, although I've had her since January 2012 so she could be older really as she was petshop bought. She has always been a healthy and active hamster, always eating and drinking well, and never showed any signs of illness. Yesterday she was fine, eating well and running on her wheel. I'm just wondering why she would suddenly have died. Since her cagemate Sue died almost a year ago, she has happily lived on her own. Any thoughts?

It could be so many things :(I'm so sorry you've lost her.
If you still have the body you could ask the vet to do a postmortem if you really want to know.
Possible causes would be heart, kidneys (basic organ failure), or a virus perhaps.
