Rivendell Jean-Luc Picard - 2010-02-19 - 2012-05-13

I lost Picard yesterday.

I can't believe it was only a week ago that I was saying how he still seemed like a 1-year-old and I thought he'd out-live Sisko by months. A few days later his back legs gave out on him and he just didn't seem the same rat, as if he'd just given up. When I got home from London yesterday he was barely responsive and I knew it was his time to leave us and that we'd make an appointment for today. I curled him up in his bed with Sisko cuddling him for warmth, and 10 minutes later he was gone.

I ended up with Picard quite by accident. I was meant to be collecting two bucks from Ann at the Tempsford show and came home with three. He was one of the cheekiest rats I've ever known, as you can probably see from the photos. Unfortunately he picked up a respiratory infection when he was quite young and ended up with a permanent snuffle so I couldn't bring him to many shows which is such a shame as I'm sure everyone would have loved him as much as I did.

I'm so sorry! He's gorgeous and his cheeky personality definitely does come across in the photos! He looks so silly and he must have had a huge personality! Some really great pictures! Thinking of you.
