Two male rats - Bosco and Ludo :(

Hi all... It is with great sadness that I'm writing this but unfortunetly I have to rehome my two boys Bosco and Ludo due to finance issues. I cannot afford to keep three cages - and it seems Bosco has some sort of blood blister on his foot which I can't afford treatment for.

I live in Carlow Town but can possibly travel. I'm seriously ashamed of myself since I haven't had them that long, but I'm still living in my mam's house and if she tells me we can't afford to keep them, it's her call. I hope noone thinks badly of me on the site for this - but I know I'm doing the right thing by my gorgeous boys.

They're both super cuddly, and Ludo loves to explore although Bosco would rather sit in your dressing gown all night and nibble on some treats rather than run around the room. Of course I will provide a cage, water bottles, and some of their fave toys. I'll even supply a bag of food and some litter if needed.

Im in carlow, and love to take them, but my parents wont allow, leave it with me till the weekend and i'll see what i can do, know a few real good rat homers!

I got a reply to my add on gumtree, a woman said that she would love them and said they'd get a few hours everyday free-ranging. But she said they'd be fed a mixture of fresh veg and rolled barley, i have no idea what that is, so can anyone tell me if this is a sufficient diet for rats? She seems lovely and very keen but I'm being so fussy..

In a word no. They need a much more varied diet than that, with some protein from (preferably) meat sources. Certainly not just rolled barley!

I'd love to help too but i have females and i don't know if i'd be able to take them, if they were neutered maybe... but anyways yes sorry about that ! D: hope you find them a lovely home
