Another rattler :(

Septimus has started rattling He isn't showing any other symptoms of illness except for the tiniest bit of porphyrin on his nose earlier today and it isn't all the time but when he does it it's quite loud. Basically I want someone to tell me it isn't CK

oh for heaven's sake this is so bloody unfair

So far the rest of his siblings are 100%. At this stage (taking off my miserable head and swapping it for my sensible logical one), it's probably just nasal, and likely not to be CK - I would try treating with Septrin if you can get it, to hopefully nip anything secondary in the bud.

Hopefully just nasal. Sure Blanche had rattled on and off throughout her second year and is (in terms of the rattling) fine. x

Switch is very rattly and porphy stained as well now. Septimus started hiccupping yesterday too, but stopped after a few minutes.

Taking them both in on Monday (stupid not open on a weekend vets )

I would say hiccuping is nothing to worry about - all rats do it at some stage I would say.

Hope Switch is OK. I do think there's something mild going about

Well Switch's noisiness is clearing up nicely with the spetrin. Septimus is still quite noisy though

bleh. Wish I knew why!

I also wish I knew why we are seeing a spate of ear infections!
