Went for a wander out to Bantry and Castletownbere yesterday with Karl - and had a great day, mostly photographing birds and landscapes... here's what I have

Birds:

Those starling ones are utterly amazing - just so beautiful. And the landscapes...just...wow. I wouldn't be surprised if they came as default backgrounds on the computer. That reminds me, I was showing my Dad some of your photos a few weeks ago (he loves birds) and he said they were the sort of photos you expected to see in a book.

Awww! That's so nice to hear <3 I'm very flattered. Maybe one day I'll be good enough to be able to have a book published. Can live in hope

If you ever want a print for your dad, just say and I'll be more than happy to give you one of the bird ones if he'd like one

OOh I may take you up on that - I think a hooded-crow one would make a nice present for him.

OMG your photos are amazing. I have a Nikon D50 and can only dream of taking photos that good I'd love to improve my photography skills but I don't have a clue where to start.... would you have any suggestions on where to learn? At the moment I'm using the 'take hundreds of photos and I'm bound to get a good one' method

Would love to catch up we had a fairly strict schedule because we had to collect eoghans niece on the way down,poor thing wasn't feeling well.we are coming back up Sunday though bad timing but enjoy

What stunning and wonderful photos of West Cork, it is a beautiful area to live in and to take a day out, even in all weathers, Laura you are so talented, well done and thank you for sharing your photos, as I say you are so fortunate to have such beautiful scenery and wildlife on your doorstep. Merry and Pippin are doing wonderfully well, getting nice and plump!! Steve
