Empathy Empty Empathy

Rats have empathy- they'll work to free a rat trapped in a box, when they can hear the trapped one calling. Some of 'em will even do it before eating, even though it means they'll have to share the food. http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/animals-and-us/201112/the-animal-research-paradox

Most pet rat owners could have told the scientists this years ago - but having said that, I thought it was a fascinating article, read it when it came out and thought it was brilliant! Grin Some good press for how fab rats are <3
