I would say probably is a coypu!

Must admit when I saw it earlier I was a bit sad at the attitude of 'kill it kill it kill it!'

Totally agree Laura. Whatever the creature was, it was minding its own business in its natural environment and I didn't see the need to kill it at all. It was hardly doing any harm.

I think he's a horrible piece of work, whatever it is. The fact that he was saying it was slow & probably pregnant & he battered it. Wtf. It's not like people walk down the street & kill badgers or geese.

Totally agree Rach. Think he should be reported to the RSPCA. If he'd done that to a dog or cat, he'd be prosecuted for animal cruelty. But this news report makes him out to be somewhat of a hero! Sometimes I'm ashamed of being human!

Apparently the RSPCA are looking into it. I'm sure nothing will come of it but.

I've seen a few reports like this, and every time people are like.. It can't be Coypu! They were eradicated! But I don't think it's completely implausible that some may have survived or even someones had some in captivity and they've escaped. I think they look more like Beavers than rats imo, and I too was saddened by the KILL IT KILL IT attitude. Though I wouldn't of thought the man could get in trouble for killing something that was supposed to be culled anyways. That's not to say I agree with it.

Awe Sad that's not nice, and its sad really, i don't know if the SPCA is better in other counties or even England but if it happened here the SPCA would have been like hmm.... too expensive to sort *forget* lol i hate the animal rights in this country, they are stupid. I've hated them for as long as i remember even as a kid my mother would ask where i wanna live when i'm older and i would say "not here, animals get treated like crap here" ^^ Meh
