Naughty Rats! :P
This morning I got such a fright!
We left the two girls in together last night as they were in the sputnik together, I went in this morning and walked over to the cage to say Hi!
Not in the sputnik, or the one on the ground, checked the hammocks, no rats, looked on the lower level under the shelf, opened the doors shock bed on ground, moved litter tray....no rats!
Either they developed powers of invisibility during the night or escaped!
Oh no! we have dogs and cats....they better not be out (cue me on hands and knees looking under furniture )
Then I thought I heard Matilda's squeaks....sounded like it was coming from the cage, but still couldn't see them, then a nose pokes out of a hole they chewed in the hammock lining, just the head with sleepy eyes and a "hey, whats all the noise about?" look.
Then a second nose sticks out, they look at the food bowl and sniff the air, then disappear back in when they realize no breakfast!
Cheeky buggers!
So moral of this story is....don't just look, feel the hammocks for lumps!
Anyone else get a scare like this?
(in my defense it was 7am, I was bit sleepy myself )

Haha! That's pretty funny! Silly ratties!
I have scares like this most days lol, my four girls have a cube and they all love to pile into in on top of each other. Cue me coming in and frantically searching 'WHERE IS SHE?! WHERE CAN SHE BE?!' in a fluster because we have boys and girls and it's my worst fear they will escape and get pregnant. Cue a little head poking out from under the other 3 bodies, 'mum, wtf, go away and let us sleep'

Hehe - yes... had one the other day - getting rats sorted for going to Cardiff show, and I couldn't find one of my Silver Agouti kittens... really, couldn't see him anywhere, and they don't have a hammock they can hide inside.
So we were frantically searching the shed, and there he was, in his hammock, actually *completely* hidden under two of the lads from Roda's litter! I believe it was Katherine's boy Isambard and my lad Captain!
xx

It is pretty funny now, but at 7am I nearly had a heart attack!
Here's a quick Pic of Matilda taken just after we got home
She is a pretty little thing, the pic doesn't do her justice, her hair is kind of longer than normal and soooo soft and silky.

The hair looks like it's probably just not great condition, rather than a special coat type (though it's hard to tell from pics anyway) - but good diet should sort her out in no time!

The hair underneath is a dark grey colour, and short, then the top hairs are longer and pale grey, very silky feeling, makes Luna's feel course in comparison.
I'll get some better pic's when I get a chance.
They are best of friends today and we put the top half of the cage together so they had great fun in the two levels!

My Sybil is the same, her fur is also longer than the others.. also kinda spikes up on her head and it's super soft, more so than the others.
Anyways, Matilda is really cute! Can't wait for more pics and pics of them together.

Ow, she looks like Bubbles. She used to be black and white like a little badger, but then turned grey as being a Roan. Although it seems that she darkens her color in bouts, especially on top of her head
