Would you be annoyed?

I was on Facebook and noticed that a friend of mine had taken a photo of my rats and shared it with her friends. Her friends had commented on the photo and lets say the comments were all very negative on my rats. She shared it as a joke to her rat phobia friends. I know I'm probably overreacting but would you be annoyed? I didn't give her my permission to share my photo with her friends (not friends of mine) and I feel a bit annoyed that a photo of my girls which I think is a lovely pic (its the 4 lined up in my hands) is being used as some joke to people who hate rats. Am I overreacting???

not at all. that would really irritate me. i'd probably go on one of my rants about how amazing rats are as pets and they're probably cleaner than the people talking about how discusting they are. they're somebody's pets, and they have right to talk about them in a negative way. you wouldn't take about their children that way. i know i probably shouldn't be comparing rats to kids, but to me, they're my babies!

I would, and I know my daughter would, she actually blocked two friends until they apologized for doing similar and making fun of her rats and saying nasty stuff.
Her argument was if she took a pic of one of their pets and posted it to someone who disliked that animal and encouraged nasty comments, how would they feel?
If the picture was taken in your home and includes you, you have the right to be very angry!
It shows a complete lack of respect, I would ask do they think you would you do same to them?

I would be annoyed too. If it was a way that was just to show her friends because she was personally interested then that would be fine by me but not to provoke nasty comments. As others have said, they're your pets and she should respect that even if she doesn't get it
