Intelligence Toys for Rats

To us here, it is a given that rats are incredibly smart and persistent little critters. I am always trying to find ways to make them work their minds. I initially got inspiration from Flexta, a rather tenacious doe featured on YouTube (http://m.youtube.com/#/channel/UCt4V...kmQCSofshNDPfg). 

So, I got mine opening tubberware boxes and pulling strings and although not quite up there with Flexta yet, they are certainly on the way. 

I am about to put in my zooplus order for foodstuffs, treats, etc. and started looking at their intelligence toys for dogs and cats. Have you guys used such toys with your rats? I have given a few links to their toys below. All are food based (of course) and based on notions of opening boxes, drawers, using doorknobs, finding by scent, etc. I'd love to hear from those of you have used such toys and if your rats enjoyed them. Also, ideas for homemade intelligence toys would be great.

I've never tried anythign like thiswith mine, to be honest, I don't have a whole heap of time to train them, there are rather a few here
however it does look really interesting - look forward to hearing more about how you get on and seeing pictures etc. I had considered trying it with some kittens from one of my next litters, and focusing on their training :)so that could be fun!

I don't envisage these toys requiring training. I hope to just let them figure them out. They seem to like a challenge and I reckon they would open drawers if they thought there was a meal worm inside!

I one gave mine a kong... they shredded it through to get the food inside, no brain work required, just teeth  I didn't really try again tbh though I give them closed off toilet roll tubes and closed boxes with food in. I got them a nutknotnibbler but they've no interest
