Bongo Fury Flash Gordon's Ape :*(

Well... Flash left us today... :*( I am heartbroken. Most of you know how close I was to Flashy... he was my teddy bear, one of the true loves of my life. He was a sweet, gentle, courageous old mad - loved people, loved rats, just loved. He sired a fab litter for us, and we have his kids and grandkids here to keep us going... but it's not the same. His very similar son, Wart (Flash On The Water), is just like him though <3

Grace and Eoghan came over to pick up their girls the other day, and they met Flash again then, and I pointed out that we'd just noticed that he had a seemingly rather fast acting and rather aggressive growth that there was no real substance to. We couldn't really get a grip on it, it was probably well spread, and with him being over 2, we didn't want to risk exploratory surgery... so we left him, knowing our time would be that bit shorter. Flashy passed away in his bed today... :*(

He was one of a kind, always so friendly and daft... he was so upset when he lost his brother Willie suddenly to a virus last year, but he bounced back, made new friends, became much more clingy with us, and blossomed into a stunning stud buck too. He was just one of the greatest, and I miss him so much :*(

I was very shocked to read this, I'm so sorry you had to lose him He was gorgeous. Every generation you seem to have these wonderful bucks that make a special space in your heart just for them - it's so sad their lives are so short. He was well loved and went peacefully without suffering though and that's what he deserved rather than a long illness I know he'll be very sorely missed (*HUG*)

So sorry Laura to hear that you lost Flash, as I said in another thread, my heart always sinks when I see the Obit sign because I know a loved one has died and that someone is in deep pain and sorrow. Thinking about you and your loss, the photos are a real tribute to Flash, he must have been a wonderful loving pet and a very dear friend to you, a big hug, Steve
