I was trying to get David Attenborough to do the commentaries. Grin

The interesting part of this video is that commonly, the 20-25khz band, is determined to be the expression range of stress, frustration or submissive behaviour.

While this seems to be the case for most interaction in the video, it brings new light to different utilization of this bandwith as we hear the "victory song" of Jack in the end.

Usually I would hear Ted on the 20-25khz range when Jack and Ted have their little fights (Jack being the Alpha) while Jack would not vocalize in that range.

Its actually the first time I heared Jack vocalize in this range!

I start to suspect that the vocalization bands are not solely used for a single type of expression, but that the situation in which it occurs has a big role to play.

We certainly observe different utilizations in territorial vocalization and food fight vocalization in the same bandwith.

I also noted that so far, I only heared Jack and Ted vocalizing at this bandwith. While the girls will squabble over food and dominace, I have yet to hear them vocalize in the 20-25khz band. Confused

But then the girls are the ones that like to giggle at the 40-45Khz band Grin
