Bongo Fury Water, Salt Water... Empty Bongo Fury Water, Salt Water...

Post by Zoundz Fri Jan 11, 2013 10:16 am

I don't know how to write this, but I have to get something out. I'm just crushed. Salty was a baby, one of Patch's litter, one of my three identical boys... he was a lvoely looking lad, and named loosely after the line of Russian Blue Agouti bucks I've had and loved... Apes Ma, Flash Gordon's Ape, Bulbous Also Tapered, Flash On The Water, Water Salt Water...

Salty was a lovely little lad... we'd barely begun to know him, however he was such a sweet natured boy, always one of the first in his cage to meet us (this morning no exception), and he had lovely eyes (a rarity for us). I had such hopes for him, as he was such a wonderful lad.

I feel very low about this death, I feel like it's my fault somehow, like I failed him... like I could have done more. It's not helped by the fact that I think he may have broken hi neck, and I'm sure I should/could have been able to prevent that in some way. This is not helped by my having a dream last night about something bad happening in the same vein in that cage of young boys... for it to actually happen today makes my blood run cold...

I'm going to miss him terribly, and so are his brothers Parker and Jack and friends Rollo and Iorek. Already they are skittish and wound up... which is very unlike them :*(

Run free lovely boy, you were far far too young and it's just not fair... :*(

For him... this...

Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay - Otis Redding:

Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah

I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the 'Frisco bay
'Cause I've had nothing to live for
And look like nothin's gonna come my way

So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

Look like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes

Sittin' here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's two thousand miles I roamed
Just to make this dock my home

Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Oooo-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

Run free Salty <3

Oh Laura.... I'm so sorry.
I've just gotten back on the site, and have been catching up.
I feel terrible reading of all these missing binks.... but this gorgeous little baby is such a hard blow.

*hugs*

I'm so sorry to hear this. He was an adorable little man. Guilt is the first stage of grieving, and totally normal. But it doesn't mean you did anything wrong. Run free little man.

I was so shocked when I read you'd lost this boy. You're right, it's so unfair, but definitely not your fault. Just such a tragic thing to happen Cry If someone with all the experience as you, who cares so much about their rats can have this happen to them, it would have happened to anyone in the same situation Cry Bye bye baby boy (((HUG)))

It hard when they have run their time, its harder when you know they would have so much time left Cry

I'm sure whatever time he had, it was good and loved. Smile

I'm sure he will meet up with the other loved ones over the rainbow.

hugs
